Fina blinked, looking up from the book she had easily found herself lost in. There was no need for her studying: she had everything down for the upcoming examination. There was a certain home with the smell of the old books on Herbology she was currently reading. She closed it, looking around at the abandoned library. When she had last looked up there must have been at least twenty other students milling about or laughing in secret, heads ducked together.
Thick shafts of moonlight spilled through the windows, illuminating certain patches at the table where she sat. Tucking the books under her arm, she went to place them in their proper homes on the shelves. As she finished her rounds, she paused, looking out the window. The moon was almost full, hanging brightly and unmarred in the dark sky. She ran a pale hand through her messy waves. She paid even less attention to her disastrous hair on weekends than she did in the week. Beginning back through the stacks she paused.
Fina hadn't been expecting to hear footsteps of a fellow person in here. She had figured most everyone would be too exhausted from Hogsmeade trips and such to go peruse her quiet sanctuaries, let alone the library. She was sure many students avoided the library as inside there was a Dementor ready to kiss their soul away. She looked up, slightly alarmed, tesning, praying the person would just not see her leaning against the enormous bookshelves in the shadows. The familiar knots of anxiety piled up deep in the pit of her stomach as she thought of having to face a new person, their judging, hard stare on her as she scrambled to find even the simplest words, despite her large vocabulary. Who would be here so close to curfew? She looked up as the person passed, barely noticing she held her breath.
